Hamdan bin Mohammed approves ‘Young Arab Leaders’ Board

Sharjah 24 – WAM: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has approved the formation of the Board of Directors for the ‘Young Arab Leaders’ initiative. The newly formed board consists of 11 prominent Arab figures from diverse fields to help advance the initiative.
Vision for Arab youth development
Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the importance of the initiative, stating that the appointed leaders would oversee its expansion, drive projects forward, and grow its network to attract emerging Arab talent. He highlighted that the initiative embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, focusing on empowering Arab youth to shape the region’s future.

“We aim to create a platform for Arab youth to realize their aspirations and contribute to the future of our societies,” Sheikh Hamdan said.

Supporting the future of Arab societies
Sheikh Hamdan further elaborated on the importance of youth involvement in driving progress, stating that the region’s 200 million young people are a valuable resource, and their empowerment is essential for a prosperous future. He emphasized that these leaders would inspire positive change and innovation across various fields, including science, culture, and technology.

The Role of the board of directors

The newly formed Board of Directors will be led by Khalfan Juma Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, and include key figures from across the Arab world. These include Sheikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa (Bahrain), Dr. Tamam Menko (Jordan), Fahad AlGhanim (Kuwait), Aïssata Lam (Mauritania), Ibrahim Mohtaseb (Saudi Arabia), Mona Ataya (Palestine), Basil El-Baz (Egypt), Yazen Altimimi (Iraq), Nasser Al-Khater (Qatar), and Sami Daud (Oman). Fatma Rashid Bujsaim has been appointed Secretary-General.

Aiming for 50,000 participants

The initiative aims to attract 50,000 participants over the coming period. It will focus on developing future projects and ideas, creating a network of influential leaders and businesspeople to mentor and guide young Arabs. Through skill development programs and mentorship, the initiative seeks to empower the next generation of leaders and innovators across the Arab world.
