Sharjah24 - WAM: Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS), the Society along with the Emirates International Endurance Village are set to organise the first ever Endurance ride for Purebred Arabians.
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s latest initiative comes as an extension to the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, whose great passion and love for Arabian horses helped in elevating their status all over the world.
Furthermore, the initiative also reflects the great support given by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed towards Endurance events, and his efforts in making sure Arabian horses get the attention and respect they deserve locally and internationally, whole shedding light on these special animals and their ability to withstand difficult conditions and run for exhaustingly long distances.
In addition to opening new horizons for owners and breeders alike, this initiative also enhances the spirit of competition between owners and breeders via organising such unique and special competitions, directly contributing to improving the UAE’s position as a pioneer and a host for such activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the EAHS, expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, for his continuous support towards the sport of Endurance, noting that the event will kick off on 26th January 2025, over 100km in Al Wathba.
Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad Al Nahyan stated, “His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan is one of the most prominent supporters of Arabian horses in their various fields and sports, all over the world. This event enhances the status of Arabian horses and encourages fans of these animals to preserve their rare breeds, which are an integral part of our cultural heritage in the UAE”.
Sheikh Zayed bin Hamad concluded, “We are confident that this race will have a significant impact on Endurance sports and will highlight many great traits these Arabian horses possess, and it will help push the sport forward while attracting more interest from owners and breeders of Arabian horses.”
