The students also performed a sports show for self-defense sports, and the ceremony included a musical performance by the musical band of the Al Noor International School Scouts team with the tunes of national anthems, and the university students recited a number of poems, and the university's chanting team recited a national anthem.
AQU continued its celebrations of the UAE’s 53rd Eid Al Etihad with the Deanship of Student Affairs organising a special event for female students’ colleges. The event included a visit to the Emirati corner, which displayed heritage items that embody the country’s history and culture, in addition to an art exhibition in which female students excelled in expressing the spirit of the union.
The ceremony included the participation of several government agencies, including the Aquarium, Sharjah Municipality, the Documents and Archives Department, the Social Services Department, Production Centre, Sharjah Museums Authority, Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Rashid Al Naham Museum in Kalba, and Al Mahatta Museum, where the Documents and Archives Authority presented old photos of Sharjah.
The event included performances by folk bands, handicraft workshops, poetry and national anthems.
On this occasion, His Excellency Prof. Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Director of Al Qasimia University, pointed out that AQU celebrations reflect the spirit of the union and the values of tolerance and belonging, through organising various events that combine authentic heritage and innovation, and express pride in the achievements made by the UAE in various fields, praising the active participation of male and female students, members of the academic and administrative bodies, and supporting bodies that enriched the celebration with their creativity.
Al Khalaf pointed out that Al Qasimia University, which was founded by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, represents a global scientific edifice that contributes to spreading the values of tolerance and peace and reflects the UAE's future vision, so the events expressed the UAE's constructive journey of work, giving and development, and the students participated in formulating their vision for their role in raising this nation and raising its flag.
In this regard, Al Khalaf said that the UAE’s 53rd Eid Al Etihad is a day of pride and honour for the nation and its wise leadership, which is steadfastly leading the UAE towards more leadership and achievements.
