The celebration was attended by Halima Al Owais, Vice Chairperson of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), His Excellency Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) , several council members, and staff from the General Secretariat, along with a number of guests who praised the excellent organisation of the events that reflect the national spirit and community cohesion during this cherished occasion.
The events began with the playing of the UAE national anthem, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, signaling the start of the celebration.
In a speech delivered by Her Excellency Halima Hamid Al Owais, she emphasised the importance of Eid Al Etihad as a precious occasion to remember the efforts of the founding fathers led by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and the progress achieved by the UAE under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and his brothers, the rulers of the Emirates.
Al Owais stated, "On this cherished occasion, we extend our highest congratulations and best wishes to President His Highness Sheikh
Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may God protect him, and to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, as well as to the members of the Supreme Council of the Union, the rulers of the Emirates, and to the noble people of the UAE."
She added, "On this occasion, we proudly recall the efforts of the founding fathers who laid the foundations of this union, and we affirm our commitment to continue working sincerely under the banner of wise leadership that guides us towards further progress and prosperity. We ask God to preserve the UAE, its leadership, and its people, and to continue blessing our nation with security, safety, flourishing, and prosperity, and may the flag of the union fly high in the sky of achievements."
The events included various segments, including a performance titled "Qalaid" by Al Kamal International School, and a patriotic poem titled "Dum Ezzak" recited by young poet Salem Mohammed Al Kaabi from Victoria International School, reflecting feelings of pride and belonging to the homeland. The audience also engaged with a play titled "UAE 2031," showcasing the UAE's future vision across various fields, performed by students from the British Talents School.
At the conclusion of the official segments, the military band performed several patriotic pieces, after which participants and supporters of the council's various events and initiatives were honored by Her Excellency Halima Hamid Al Owais, and His Excellency Ahmed Saeed Al Jarwan, Secretary-General of SCC, in appreciation of their contributions to the success of the council's activities.
Following the segments, attendees explored accompanying areas of the celebration, which included traditional performances that embodied the UAE's cultural identity, as well as an exhibition of classic cars that attracted the interest of the audience. Everyone also enjoyed traditional Emirati dishes, adding a distinctive character to the event, amidst an atmosphere of joy and community participation.
