The Crown Prince of Sharjah was briefed on the Authority’s future plans, including details of the Sharjah Communication Technology Free Zone (a free zone authority) under the Sharjah Communication Technologies Authority. The headquarters, to be established in the city of Kalba, aims to strengthen the emirate’s position in the fields of data, artificial intelligence, and advanced technologies. It will provide a conducive environment to encourage investment in digital transformation and artificial intelligence, support companies and institutions working in technology, develop national scientific talents, and attract global expertise.
The Crown Prince of Sharjah was also briefed on the Authority’s efforts in coordinating between local and federal entities and fostering collaboration to align with the UAE’s vision and objectives. These efforts aim to position the country as a leader in the data and communications sector by implementing international agreements and treaties the UAE is committed to in the field of communication technologies.

The Crown Prince of Sharjah commended the efforts of the Authority’s team in achieving their objectives, which include regulating the communication technologies sector across the Emirate of Sharjah and attracting leading specialised companies in the field. He wished them continued success and progress.
