Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Real Estate Registration Department (SRERD) has celebrated the 53rd Union Day of the United Arab Emirates, which falls on December 2nd of each year.
SRERD’s celebration included various cultural and artistic events that showcased the Emirati heritage, in addition to national segments that reflect the spirit of the union and the country’s achievements since its establishment until today.
The celebration was attended by His Excellency Abdul Aziz Ahmed Al-Shamsi, Director General of the Department, His Excellency Abdul Aziz Rashid Al-Saleh, Director of the Department, in addition to the heads of departments and sections, and a number of managers of real estate development companies and real estate offices operating in the emirate.
Various segments celebrating the achievements
The ceremony included a variety of national and cultural segments, which included a national march in front of the department building, in which the department’s managers and employees and a number of attendees participated. Other events included musical performances presented by Sharjah Police Academy’s musical band, and the operetta “Journey to Glory” presented by the students of Sheikha Meera Bint Mohammed Al-Suwaidi School. The military band also presented a number of musical performances that expressed the great love of the country.
The department also planted “Al-Ghaf” tree in its main building in the Al-Layyah area, which is considered a national and cultural symbol of the UAE. His Excellency Abdul Aziz Al-Shamsi and His Excellency Abdul Aziz Al-Saleh planted it, with the participation of a number of employees and attendees.
A great historical moment
On this national occasion, Al-Shamsi expressed his pride and appreciation for the UAE’s achievements under the banner of the Union.
His Excellency said: “The Union Day comes to remind us of the great historical moment that witnessed the establishment of our beloved country on December 2nd, 1971, by the founding fathers led by Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul.” Al-Shamsi stressed that “the wise leadership spares no effort in order to advance the country and ensure the happiness of citizens and residents, by building an integrated society that enjoys security, prosperity, and flourishing, and is characterized by a competitive knowledge economy and an ambitious vision for the future that aims to make our country one of the happiest, most tolerant, and most advanced countries in the world”.
The celebration was attended by a large number of the department’s employees and citizens, who expressed their feelings of pride and gratefulness, affirming their commitment to moving forward in the path of giving and construction under the banner of the union.
