Sharjah24: As part of its participation in the 7th edition of the Oman Para Athletics Championship, the UAE Embassy in Muscat welcomed the Khorfakkan Club for the Disabled Athletics team. The team is set to compete in the event, organised by the Omani Paralympic Committee, featuring 150 athletes from Gulf clubs as well as teams from the Czech Republic and Greece on November 8th and 9th, 2024.
Dr. Ali Al Shamsi, the Acting Charge d'Affaires at the UAE Embassy, extended a warm welcome to the delegation, expressing his best wishes for their success in the competitions. The UAE's commitment to supporting individuals of determination was underscored, along with commendations for Khorfakkan Club's remarkable accomplishments in both regional and international sports competitions.
Dr. Al Shamsi also praised the club for its dedication to competing in numerous tournaments, showcasing a significant number of athletes who represent the UAE across various sports areas. This highlights advancements in sports within the UAE and is in line with the directives from the nation's leadership, which offers extensive support and resources to athletes.
Abdullah Saeed Al Huraithi, head of the delegation, expressed his gratitude to the UAE Embassy in Muscat for the warm reception and support extended to the team during their stay in Oman. He appreciated the efforts made to meet the team's needs, facilitating their mission and preparation for the event.
He emphasised the team's determination to secure leading positions, pointing out that the backing from the UAE, as represented by the embassy, inspires the players to pursue success. The delegation includes eight athletes from the UAE, all are determined to showcase a remarkable performance that underscores their dedication to attaining new sporting achievements.
