Sharjah24 - WAM: The UAE Accountability Authority (UAEAA) participated in the G20 Anti-Corruption Ministerial Meeting, held in Natal, under the Brazilian Presidency, on Thursday.
President of the UAEAA Humaid Obaid Abushibs led the UAE delegation to the meeting, which brought together global leaders to discuss pressing challenges in the fight against corruption, promote global initiatives, and support international cooperation to achieve a more transparent and responsible future.

The UAE delegation engaged in discussions which culminated in the adoption of the G20 Ministerial Declaration on contribution to a just world and a sustainable planet through anti-corruption and integrity promotion. Participants hoped the Declaration will underscore the vitality of effectively preventing and combating corruption as a prerequisite for sustainable development.

The meeting endorsed the G20 Anti-Corruption Action Plan 2025-2027, which sets out common priorities and objectives identified by G20 countries. It stressed that this approach of the Action Plan leaves ample space for future G20 Presidencies to determine and pursue their own priorities while committing to incorporating related deliverables into their respective work programmes.

It also endorsed the G20 High-Level Principles (HLPs) on Incentives for the Private Sector to Adopt Comprehensive and Consistent Integrity Measures to Prevent and Combat Corruption.

With the knowledge and recognition that a just world and a sustainable environment are a shared commitment among multiple actors, encourage the engagement of the private sector to adopt integrity systems that take into account other relevant risks, such as the potential environmental, social and economic impact of their business activities.
