Sharjah 24: As the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF 2024) enters its 43rd edition, it continues to expand beyond the printed page, offering visitors a window into the world of culture and arts through various mediums. This year, two standout theatrical productions—Traino, a contemplative exploration of cultural coexistence, and Al-Yathum, a horror-comedy with a take on societal issues—will entertain diverse audiences while sparking dialogue, raising awareness of critical social issues, and celebrating the richness of cultural exchange.
Traino: A call for coexistence
The play Traino will be staged on Friday, November 8 from 7:30 pm to 8:45 pm, with a second show on Saturday, November 9 from 5:45 pm to 7:00 pm. The story follows the journey of three girls who receive a special invitation to embark on the trip of a lifetime aboard a mysterious train filled with puzzles. As the train traverses through various countries, the girls are challenged to embrace cultural coexistence and harmony with people from all around the world.

Al-Yathum: Emphasising the importance of social cohesion
Starring Abdulrahman Al Aqel, Zahra Arafat, Fahad Al Bannai, Mohammed Al Ramadan, Naif Al Anazi, and Lama Ameer, Al-Yathum is a horror comedy that tackles emerging societal issues that pose risks to community cohesion, emphasising the importance of addressing and resolving them.
