Sharjah 24 – WAM: Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, reaffirmed the UAE's dedication to preserving its national heritage during his visit to the Saadiyat Cultural District. He highlighted ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing the protection of the nation’s cultural legacy.
During the visit, Sheikh Khaled toured key sites, including the Zayed National Museum, the Natural History Museum – Abu Dhabi, and the digital arts museum teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, all scheduled for completion by the end of 2025. He noted that the Saadiyat Cultural District embodies the UAE's commitment to documenting its rich history and promoting cultural dialogue globally.
By September 2024, the district reached 83% completion, moving closer to becoming one of the world's premier cultural hubs. Sheikh Khaled visited the Zayed National Museum, where the iconic design, inspired by falcon feathers, is nearing completion, and learned about its galleries that celebrate the UAE’s history.
He also engaged with engineering teams and UAE talents involved in the cultural projects, particularly the Natural History Museum, which will take visitors on a 13.8-billion-year journey through the universe’s history. Additionally, he explored teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, an immersive digital arts space designed to inspire creativity through evolving installations.
Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, emphasized that the Saadiyat Cultural District is a hub for cultural dialogue, attracting visitors from around the world. The projects, developed in collaboration with Miral, showcase the intersection of art and technology, fostering creativity and curiosity.
The Saadiyat Cultural District has been a symbol of cultural excellence for 15 years, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to its national identity and heritage, continuing the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan in bridging connections with diverse cultures.
