Sharjah24 - WAM: In implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and with the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Chairman of the Presidential Affairs, and under the supervision of H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes' Affairs and Chair of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, a donation collection drive will be held at Expo Centre Sharjah as part of the 'UAE stands with Lebanon' campaign from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
The campaign, which kicked off on October 8, will continue until October 21.
The Big Heart Foundation and Sharjah Charity Association, in cooperation with various charitable bodies, institutions, businessmen and social clubs in the Emirate of Sharjah, will manage the event with the participation of a number of volunteers from different segments of the community.
Mariam Al Hammadi, Director of The Big Heart Foundation, said that the campaign’s objectives reflected the values of human solidarity that forms an integral aspect of the Emirati society in all its diversity.
She underscored the principles of fraternity that the UAE, its leadership, government and people, are committed to.
She pointed out that the Big Heart Foundation embraced those values and principles as building blocks in its humanitarian and charitable work.
These values and principles help in achieving stability and security in societies facing disasters and crises, she stressed.
Abdullah bin Khadem, Executive Director of the Sharjah Charity Association, said that the many charitable activities undertaken by the UAE for people in crisis were part of a historical chain of mobilisations to provide relief to people in misery across the globe.
‘The UAE stands with Lebanon’ campaign is part of that historical chain which reflects the UAE leadership’s profound concern for societies suffering hardships and desire to ameliorate their plight, he added.
