Multiple fatalities reported following plane crash in N. Carolina

Sharjah 24 – WAM: Multiple people died after a single-engine plane crashed Saturday in a wooded area at Wright Brothers National Memorial’s First Flight Airport in North Carolina, the National Park Service said.

In a statement carried by the Associated Press (AP), the crash occurred at 5:00 EDT as, according to eyewitnesses, the plane was trying to land at the airport.

The aircraft caught fire after the crash, the park service said, adding that the fire was put out. The airport is closed until further notice, it continued.
