Sharjah 24 – Reuters: Cole Palmer netted all four goals in the first half, including a stunning free kick and a penalty, leading Chelsea to a thrilling 4-2 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.
The match featured goalkeeping blunders, high defensive lines, and rapid counter-attacks. Brighton's Georginio Rutter opened the scoring in the seventh minute, but Palmer quickly responded with an 11-minute hat-trick. Carlos Baleba pulled one back for Brighton in the 32nd minute following a mistake from Chelsea's Robert Sanchez. Palmer then added his fourth goal just before halftime, assisted by Jadon Sancho.
Palmer made history as the first player to score four goals in a Premier League match's first half. He nearly added a fifth in the second half but shot wide with only the keeper to beat.
This victory moved Chelsea up to third in the table and ended Brighton's unbeaten start to the season.
