Manchester City advances to round16 in English League Cup

Manchester City qualified after defeating their visitors Watford 2-1 at the Etihad Stadium.

City took the lead in the first half with two goals scored by Jeremy Doku and Matheus Nunes in the 5th and 38th minutes.

Tom Ince reduced the deficit by scoring Watford's only goal in the 86th minute.

Manchester City will face Leicester City, who narrowly won against Walsall on penalties, 3-0, after a goalless draw in a match held at the same time.

As for Chelsea, they advanced after a crushing victory over Barrow, winning 5-0 in a match where French striker Christopher Nkunku excelled.

Nkunku scored a hat-trick with goals in the 8th, 15th, and 75th minutes, while his teammate Pedro Neto added another goal in the 48th minute.

The London team also benefited from an own goal by Barrow's goalkeeper Paul Farman, which occurred in the 28th minute.

Chelsea awaits a strong test in the next round when they face their London neighbor Tottenham Hotspur, who qualified by defeating Coventry City 2-1.

In a challenging scenario, Aston Villa advanced by winning against their hosts Wycombe Wanderers 2-1.
