The move marks a new chapter at the Etihad Stadium, with Maresca signing a three-year contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2029.
The 46-year-old Italian arrives with prior experience in English football, having coached Leicester City in the Championship and later managing Chelsea in the Premier League.
Speaking after the reported appointment, Maresca expressed his delight at taking charge of Manchester City, describing the club as one he knows well and deeply respects.
“Manchester City is a club I know very well, and being provided the opportunity to coach this team is a fantastic chance for me,” Maresca said.
He praised the club’s structure and working environment, adding that City operates with a high level of professionalism, innovation, and clarity of purpose.
