Sharjah 24 - WAM: Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, Monday met with Mark Thompson, Chairman and CEO of CNN Worldwide, at Emirates Towers.
He noted that Dubai and CNN forged a strong partnership 20 years ago when CNN chose the city for its regional headquarters. Dubai’s commitment to shaping the future of global media has made it an international hub for the industry, advancing with cutting-edge technology and fostering media growth.
"Dubai exemplifies turning opportunities into achievements, and we are confident in our continued progress across various sectors, including media," His Highness stated. He highlighted Dubai's strategic role under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in driving innovation and sustainable development.
During the meeting, His Highness reaffirmed Dubai’s support for media companies, emphasizing the city’s dynamic media ecosystem, state-of-the-art infrastructure, and conducive environment for innovation. The meeting was attended by Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs; Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications; and several media officials from CNN.
