Sharjah 24 – AFP: US presidential candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris are intensifying their campaigns in key battleground states amid a heated debate over Haitian immigrants. Trump, promising "large deportations," is set to rally in Nevada focusing on economic issues like inflation. Meanwhile, Harris, fresh off a strong debate performance, is campaigning in Pennsylvania, a crucial swing state.
Trump has amplified his rhetoric on illegal immigration, accusing Harris of allowing "illegal aliens" to flood the border and vowing large-scale deportations from Springfield, Ohio—a city at the center of a controversial conspiracy theory involving Haitian immigrants. This has led to heightened tensions and evacuations in Springfield.

Trump's campaign has been marred by controversy, including the presence of far-right conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer. Loomer's past comments and actions, including 9/11 conspiracy theories, have drawn criticism, even from some hard-right Republicans.

President Joe Biden, who endorsed Harris after dropping out of his own reelection bid, condemned Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric, stating, "There’s no place in America for this."

As the election approaches, Trump is focusing on attacking Harris, who is positioning herself as a leader for a new generation. Harris has largely avoided direct personal attacks, instead advocating for a fresh start and acknowledging the tight race ahead.
