Sharjah24 - WAM: Sheikh Abdulla bin Mohammed Al Hamed, Chairman of the National Media Office (NMO), affirmed that Emirati women play a pivotal role in the UAE's societal development, having demonstrated their remarkable ability to achieve success across various fields and anticipate and shape the future.
In a statement on Emirati Women's Day, Al Hamed highlighted the great support Emirati women provide to their nation, serving as a strategic partner in the country’s progress. Celebrated each year on 28th August, Emirati Women’s Day commemorates women’s power, their achievements in arts, business, science and numerous other fields, and their key role in shaping the future of the UAE.
The NMO Chairman said that thanks to the support of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his commitment to ensuring the advancement of Emirati women through education, Emirati women have achieved significant successes which bring pride to the UAE.
“They have become a key pillar in building society, a symbol of creativity, and an inspiring model regionally and globally,” he added.
Al Hamed highlighted the major role of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak (The Mother of the Nation), Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood (SCMC), and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), in empowering Emirati women, driven by her belief in their invaluable contributions to the UAE's growth across all sectors.
Al Hamed added, “Since its founding, the UAE has been reaping the fruits of the bet it made on its women, earning a large role in the vision of the UAE's Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who believed in their potential to contribute to the nation’s development. Today, Emirati women have become a symbol and model of positive and fruitful participation. Their dedication, sacrifices, and contributions to the UAE’s sustainable development journey have shaped our country's future through their initiatives, vision, and leadership in various fields.”
He also highlighted the role of Emirati women in shaping the future of local media, noting that they have made significant contributions to the development of the UAE's media sector and have played a key role in nurturing educated and conscious generations capable of building the country’s future.
He concluded, “Emirati women have become a major driving force, actively contributing to shaping the media landscape in the UAE. Their successes in this sector have set a benchmark, as they have proven their ability to offer innovative visions that enhance the global status of Emirati media.”
