Sharjah 24 – Reuters: England defender Kieran Trippier, 33, announced his retirement from international football on Thursday after earning 54 caps.
Debuting for England in 2017, Trippier played in the last two World Cups and the European Championship. He featured in six of England's seven matches at Euro 2024 but was left out of the final against Spain.

In an Instagram post, Trippier expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to represent England at four major tournaments and thanked former manager Gareth Southgate, his teammates, and fans for their support.

FIFA praised his international career, noting his crucial goal in England's 2-1 semi-final loss to Croatia in the 2018 World Cup. Newcastle United also congratulated Trippier for making the nation proud.

England's Nations League campaign begins against Ireland on September 7.
