Sharjah 24: Abdulsalam Abdulrahman Zainal, Director of the Licensing Department at the Sharjah Private Education Authority, stated that the number of school buses in the city of Sharjah has reached about 2,767 buses, ready to receive the new school year.
He stated that the authority, in collaboration with strategic partners including the Sharjah Police and the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority, continues to improve the school transportation service and explore ways to enhance it to meet the expectations of the authority and parents. This involves utilising all available resources to ensure the comfort and safety of students.
He added that they conducted an inspection of several schools to check the readiness of the school buses and ensure that comprehensive inspection and maintenance operations for all buses have been completed. This includes verifying the readiness of the security and safety systems on the buses, checking the seven cameras (three inside and four outside the bus), internal sensors for monitoring students when getting off, and reviewing the permits for each bus supervisor.
The Director of the Licensing Department at the Sharjah Private Education Authority announced that there are 2,767 buses in Sharjah and 2,850 licenses for bus supervisors. He urged parents to use the "Your Children are Safe" platform, which serves as a unified system for monitoring daily school trips for private schools in Sharjah and overseeing the performance of transportation service operators and their compliance with school transportation regulations on their phones. He wished everyone a successful academic year.
