Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Sports Channel, part of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, is preparing to launch a new programming schedule for the 2024-2025 sports season. This new lineup is the largest in the channel's history and features a wide variety of programmes designed to meet the needs of sports enthusiasts with diverse interests. The new schedule reflects the channel's media mission to provide comprehensive and distinguished sports content.
The new programming, which starts on Friday, August 23, 2024, includes a broad range of sports shows, including both familiar programmes and new additions to the lineup. The goal is to provide comprehensive coverage of local and international sports.
One of the new programmes is "The Sports Observatory," which aims to cover all sports news and events in Sharjah, with a focus on activities of the Sharjah Sports Council and its affiliated clubs. Presenters Hamid Al Suwaidi, Rashid Al Hamadi, and Majid Al Sharif will cover these events on the ground and conduct interviews with officials, organisers, and participants.
The new season will also see the launch of "From the Week," a programme that offers a detailed roundup of major global sports news, updates on major leagues and tournaments, and player news. Additionally, sports fans can look forward to sports bulletins that provide quick updates throughout the day.
Among the channel's new offerings is an educational programme focusing on various sports, explaining the technical, organisational, and refereeing aspects of each sport. The show will feature interviews with former players and coaches, who will provide explanations and practical examples of technical and tactical aspects, enhancing viewers' sports culture and understanding of the rules.
Ali Al Ali will present "Professionalism," a weekly talk show that features foreign and resident players active in the league, discussing their football careers, experiences in the UAE, and aspects of their family and social lives.
The programme "Our Fields" will continue its usual coverage for the eleventh consecutive season, focusing on numerous local and international events, including sports elections for various local federations. This will provide rich discussion and analysis. Similarly, "Sports Line" will offer fans a platform to express their opinions and aspirations for the season across various sports.
The "Women's Sports" programme, led by media personality Iman Mubarak, will continue to cover local women's sports events, highlighting this important aspect of sports supported by leadership.
In the afternoon, "From the Emirates" will cover all sports activities in the Emirate of Sharjah and the country for four days a week, hosting representatives from clubs and sports events.
"World of Football" will focus on the five major leagues for another season, covering their news and important matches through weekly rounds, providing reports from the heart of the action, and capturing the reactions of coaches, media, and fans to these major football events.
For the third consecutive season, "Sports City" will showcase various sports institutions and clubs in Sharjah, highlighting their contributions to community sports, intellectual, and cultural fields, and their role in nurturing youth and supporting community development alongside their sports achievements throughout the season.
"Young Fields" will enter its eighth year, focusing on all activities and matches for future generations, meeting them on the field, and promoting sports among youth. The programme covers all age group leagues across different sports.
"Communication Platform" will engage with fans on social media, capturing their pulse in an innovative way, monitoring interactions with major events and tournaments, and presenting the perspectives of social media fans and followers.
At the end of every round in the Professional League or any local championship, the programme "Nabd Al-Malaeb" comes on to be the voice of the fans directly from the stands, capturing the reactions and opinions of the 12th player on the green field. Sharjah Sports Channel does not stop at offering this diverse range of live and recorded programmemes but also presents a series of documentaries and other sports shows that focus on motorsports, shipbuilding, and boating, in addition to programmemes that cover football in Europe and Latin America. The channel also provides programmeming packages accompanying international tournaments and local finals, making this season the most dynamic and diverse in the channel's history since its inception.
The channel will continue broadcasting ADNOC Professional League matches, the President's Cup, and the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup, along with analytical studios that offer football fans deep and enjoyable match analyses. Additionally, it will broadcast Spanish Basketball League games and many local competitions, such as equestrian events, handball, basketball, and volleyball leagues, further solidifying its role as a preferred destination for sports fans in the region.
