Located in the heart of Sharjah city, Al Majaz Waterfront offers a breathtaking view of Khalid Lagoon, spanning 231,000 square feet (21,460.6 square metres).

This captivating destination features stunning designs and landscapes honouring Sharjah Emirate's rich history and culture. Its vibrant atmosphere invites exploration and enjoyment for visitors from diverse backgrounds. Additionally, the area offers a variety of restaurants, cafes, and towers showcasing the beauty of traditional and Islamic architecture.

The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) launched this unique tourism project in 2010, offering a range of exceptional recreational facilities appealing to visitors of all ages. Highlights include a mini-golf course suitable for both children and adults and a dedicated track for walking and jogging.

Al Majaz Waterfront hosts a variety of year-round events such as boating, cruises, concerts, art festivals, and daily shows at the renowned Sharjah Fountain. As for children, they can enjoy dedicated facilities and engaging activities, including a playground area, a mini waterpark, and art workshops.

The site also provides public amenities, free Wi-Fi, and parking for over 1,000 cars, alongside various other visitor services.

Sharjah Fountain: the beauty of the dancing water

Khalid Lagoon features the Sharjah Fountain at its heart, among the largest in the Arabian Gulf region. The fountain shoots water jets up to approximately 100 metres in height, captivating visitors with stunning water displays and breathtaking light shows.

Built in the late 1970s, the Sharjah Fountain has become an iconic landmark and remains a popular destination for all visitors. Spanning over 220 metres and overlooking a public square, the dancing fountain invites visitors to enjoy its diverse shows. It combines video, laser, lights, immersive sounds, and graceful movements to offer a mesmerising experience from the park benches along Khalid Lagoon.

Al Noor Mosque: gorgeous lake views

Al Noor Mosque, a prominent Islamic landmark in Sharjah, was recognised by Guinness World Records in 2014 for housing the largest wooden charity box. Inaugurated in 2005, it overlooks the scenic Khalid Lagoon. The mosque is renowned for its multiple domes, exquisite carvings, breathtaking views, and Ottoman-style architecture. It features two tall minarets at its corners and a large central dome. Coloured-glass windows and intricately carved interior columns surround the dome, making the mosque an architectural masterpiece that captivates visitors with its artistic details.
