Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Fish Resources Authority (SFRA) organised summer activities for school students and children, including workshops and events aimed at enhancing their interest in discovering marine life, instilling in them the importance of the fishing profession from a young age, and introducing them to the profession of their ancestors.
His Excellency Ali Ahmed Abu Ghazin, Chairman of the SFRA, confirmed that the authority, within its strategic plan, is working to attract children to its initiatives and activities, as part of its efforts to enhance environmental awareness, preserve fish resources and marine life, which is a priority for achieving self-sufficiency, and support the fishing profession and fishermen.
He noted the authority’s keenness to target school students and children in general, to raise their awareness of the importance of fish resources, discover their talents, hone their skills in this field, and provide the necessary support for their success and excellence.
He explained that the authority had previously launched the “Our Seas are Wealth” initiative, through which it targeted children, to encourage them to practice their hobbies and learn about fish resources and marine life.
