Sultan bin Ahmed commends University of Sharjah for top UAE rank

Sharjah24: Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, announced that the University has been recognised among the best universities globally, according to several international rankings. Most notably, the U.S. News Global Rankings placed the University of Sharjah first in the United Arab Emirates and fourth among universities in the Arab world.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed noted that the University of Sharjah ranked 55th among universities in Asia and 261st globally, out of 2,250 universities and institutes worldwide. He praised the efforts of the University's Board of Trustees, administration, faculty, and students, who have all played a significant role in achieving this remarkable accomplishment for the Emirate of Sharjah.

The President of the University of Sharjah emphasised that these achievements are the result of the visionary leadership of the University's founder, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. This vision has guided the University's team, leading it to outperform many prestigious universities globally in various fields, including sustainable green science and technology, engineering sciences, energy and fuel sciences, and scientific publications.

Sultan bin Ahmed also highlighted the significant advancement of the University of Sharjah in citations by scholars and researchers. The University is now ranked in the top 1% globally, holding the 38th position, making it one of the most cited universities in the world.

The U.S. News Global Rankings are based on several criteria focusing on the academic success of universities. These include local and international reputation, annual published research and its impact, international collaboration with other universities, and the awarding of doctoral degrees. Additionally, the emphasis on globally published research provides extensive and diverse information resources for students worldwide.
