Sharjah 24 – WAM: His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, affirmed that excellence and innovation in education are fundamental pillars for achieving progress and economic growth.
They are the main enablers for establishing a knowledge-based and innovative competitive economy, which improves the quality of life for individuals and societies, and lays solid foundations for building a brighter, more sustainable future for present and future generations, said Sheikh Saud Al Qasimi during a ceremony to honour more than 60 winners of the Ras Al Khaimah Award for Educational Excellence in various categories.
The Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah stressed that developing the education sector and sharpening its global competitiveness is at the forefront of the priorities of the United Arab Emirates and Ras Al Khaimah, as it is the locomotive of comprehensive development and the main leverage of economic growth and successful investment in the renaissance of nations and their excellence.
This is achieved through adopting the best international standards and practices and encouraging innovative programs that support creative thinking, motivate young people to nurture the spirit of innovation and creativity, and develop new ideas that shape the features of the future.
In 2014, the Ras Al Khaimah Award for Educational Excellence was established to promote a culture of excellence and innovation in the educational sector, by enabling educational institutions to apply international standards of excellence and motivating teachers, students and all stakeholders involved in the educational process in Ras Al Khaimah.
