Sharjah 24: Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) organised the fourth edition of Al Zahia Run at City Centre Al Zahia with great success, with the participation of 300 men and women, as part of Sharjah Sports Summer, with the aim of motivating many segments of society to practice sports.
The race was held indoors, amid great interaction and wonderful enthusiasm from the participants, and was organised, in cooperation with the Centre and Al Qudra Sports Management. Dr. Yasser Omar Al Dokhi, Director of the Sports and Community Events Department at the Council, and Lina Hamad from the Center’s Marketing Department attend the event and crowned the winners.
Dr. Yasser Al Dokhi praised the excellence of the event that saw success for the fourth year in a row, noting that it was full of enthusiasm from the participants in all categories of the race, especially from the children’s category, as their number reached approximately 100 boys and girls, which enriched the event. The event came within the keenness of Sharjah Sports Council to provide the appropriate environment to practice running indoors, especially during the summer period and the heat of the weather.
Dr. Yasser Al Dokhi added that the event success in recent years was the greatest motivation to continue holding it, especially with the large turnout in each season from different age groups, reflecting the importance and value of sport for the various groups of society.
Dr. Yasser Al Dokhi thanked all parties that cooperated and contributed with the council to the success of the event.
