Sharjah 24: His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Kalba, chaired, on Thursday, the second meeting of the Board of Trustees (BoT) at the university’s headquarters.
The board discussed many topics related to various educational, academic and administrative aspects at the university, and the board adopted a number of decisions that will contribute to achieving the university’s aspirations.

The board approved the internal regulations of the University of Kalba, which regulate all academic, administrative, financial, graduate studies, scientific research areas, among others, in addition to approving the organisational structure of the University of Kalba.









The board approved the appointment of Dr. Ali Al Zaabi as Assistant Director for Community Affairs and Public Relations, the appointment of Dr. Hassan Saleem as Dean of the College of Business Administration, and the appointment of Dr. Lafi Mohammed Musa as Dean of the College of Law.

The board reviewed the report of the two visits of the delegation of the Commission for Academic Accreditation to the University of Kalba, which took place earlier, where the delegation evaluated the physical education and sports sciences programme. 








The board also reviewed the reports of the academic, financial, compliance and audit committees, and the Financial Resources Development Committee, and the most prominent recommendations made to develop various fields at the university and accelerate scientific and academic progress.

The board learned about the most prominent achievements of the University of Kalba, which is witnessing good student demand, as it is a new cultural edifice in the city. The students are preparing to complete their studies during the summer semester, and the university is also working to attract experienced, highly qualified professors to join the teaching staff at the university.









The board discussed the steps taken by the University of Sharjah to develop and enhance the skills and capabilities of members of the administrative body by placing them in specialised training courses, in addition to the university’s participation in community and cultural events and initiatives and hosting educational conferences.

On the sidelines of the BoT meeting, His Highness the President of the University of Kalba reviewed the female students’ forum, which provides a food and snack outlet, seating areas for 70 people, and a space for studying, or joint work on scientific projects. It is equipped with facilities that contribute to providing a suitable educational environment for female students in terms of comfortable chairs, side and individual tables designated for meetings, in addition to plants and a glass facade that allows natural light to enter.








The meeting saw the presence of Dr. Suleiman bin Sarhan Al Zaabi, Chairman of Department of Municipalities Affairs, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Butti Al Muhairi, Chairman of Sharjah Health Authority, Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council, Dr. Saif Salem Al Qaydi, Chancellor of University of Kalba, Ali Ahmed Al Hosani, Director of Sharjah Private Education Authority, Dr. Abdullah Saleh Al Suwaiji, Executive Director of Higher Colleges of Technology in Fujairah, Dr. Maryam Salem Al Marashda, former Dean of Student Affairs at UAE University, Dr. Justen O'Connor, Associate Professor of Physical Education at Monash University in Australia, Faisal Jassim Al Midfa, Head of Business Finance at Sharjah Islamic Bank, Aisha Reda Al Bairaq, former Member of Federal National Council, and Abdullah Ibrahim Al Zaabi, Administrative Advisor and Director of Branch Management in Human Resources Department.
