Sharjah 24: During its visit to the Community Police Department at the Sharjah Police General Command (SPGC), the Family Affairs Committee of Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) discussed the efforts made to protect families from risks, the awareness programmes implemented and ways to communicate with the public.
The visit came within the committee’s work for the first regular session of the eleventh legislative term and was integrated with its plans to discuss its work and vision in supporting the family system in the Emirate of Sharjah and coordination with the relevant authorities.
The committee was visited by Saeed Matar bin Hamid Al Tunaiji, Chairman of the Committee, and was attended by members of the Committee, Rashid Ghanem Al Shamsi, Rapporteur of the Committee; Abdullah Maaden Al Ketbi; Abdullah bin Tarish Al Kaabi; Mohammed Al Alawi Al Dhahouri; Hamid Obaid Al Hamoudi; Dr. Hind Al Hajri. From the General Secretariat of the Council, Hoda Al Hammadi, Secretary of the Committee, and Islam Al Shiwi, media expert.
SCC delegation from the Family Affairs Committee was received by Brigadier General Ahmed Haji Al Sarkal, Director General of the General Department of Police Operations; Brigadier Ibrahim Musabah Al Ajel, Deputy Director General of Police Operations; Colonel Ahmed Al Marri, Director of the Community Police Department; Colonel Jassim Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Head of the Combined Police Department, and a number of officers.
During the meeting, they learned about the tasks and activities of the Community Police Department and its vital role in raising security awareness and participating in preventive campaigns to serve the community.
The aspects of continued cooperation between SCC and SPGC were reviewed through the Community Police Department and its prominent community role, strengthening the bonds of cooperation with government entities and institutions concerned with supporting individuals and their stability.
Mechanisms for concerted efforts and initiatives that serve the Emirate in many sectors were discussed, which came as a result of extensive interest and care in light of the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah to preserve society and achieve its cohesion and security of its members.
SPGC stressed the continuation of its role in promoting constructive relations with the community and enhancing partnership and communication with relevant parties and institutions, with the aim of achieving the goals of public security and safety. SPGC also highlighted the integration of its roles to provide the necessary support and cooperation to enhance security awareness and protect individuals and families in society, through its programmes, campaigns and communication with schools, communities, and all members of society, including citizens and residents, through the implementation of social and educational programmes and initiatives that aim to enhance the security culture and contribute to building a safe and prosperous society.
