Sharjah 24 – Reuters: Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a plea for restraint in the Middle East, urging all parties to avoid actions that could escalate tensions and lead to catastrophic consequences for the region, according to a statement from the Kremlin.
During a phone call with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, Putin addressed what the Kremlin described as "retaliatory measures taken by Iran" following recent events in the region.

Putin emphasised that the unresolved conflict between Palestinians and Israel is the root cause of instability in the region. He expressed hope that all parties would exercise restraint to prevent further escalation.

Raisi, in turn, stated that Iran's actions were necessitated by the circumstances but emphasised Tehran's lack of interest in escalating tensions further.

In his conversation with Raisi, Putin also extended congratulations to all Muslims on the conclusion of the holy month of Ramadan.
