Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Ramadan Festival 2024, which concluded its 34th edition, on Saturday, has had a significant impact on revitalising the retail sector and commercial activity in the emirate's markets, providing exceptional shopping experiences for residents and visitors over 37 days, including promotional offers, significant discounts, programmes, and events that spread joy throughout the holy month of Ramadan and Eid days.
The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) organised the festival, which saw a rise in sales volume this season, exceeding forecasts and reaching nearly 400 million dirhams, a 25% increase over 2023. The event drew visitors and families from both inside and outside the emirate, offering discounts of up to 75% on various goods, with hundreds of exhibitors, local and international brands participating, it helped to strengthen Sharjah's position as a leading destination for shopping, entertainment, and tourism, attracting a wide range of categories and nationalities.
Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director General of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) emphasised that the Chamber worked tirelessly to secure the festival's success and its continued status as one of the region's most important commercial and entertainment events. It is part of the Chamber's shopping promotion strategy, which aims to stimulate and diversify the emirate's economy, improve innovative branding practices, support the local business community and entrepreneurs, and strengthen collaboration between the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and various government and private entities.
Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Business Sector at SCCI, stated that the level of public turnout and satisfaction among the festival's participating centres and commercial outlets across the emirate is indicative of its success, as evidenced by sales volume that exceeded expectations.
Ibrahim Rashid Al Jarwan, Director of Economic Relations and Marketing at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and the festival's general coordinator, stated that the festival's success is due to collaboration between the Chamber, strategic partners, major sponsors, government entities, and the private sector, as well as the efforts of participating commercial outlets, local and international brands, and productive families.
Visitors actively engaged with the festival's surprises, presents, purchase vouchers, and special deals during its run from March 8th to April 13th. The festival's organising committee and commercial centres provided shoppers with shopping vouchers worth around one million dirhams.
