Sharjah24: Al Qasimia University (AQU) organised its 8th Ramadan Council, dedicated this year to the theme of "Translations of the Holy Quran." The Ramadan Council featured distinguished guests including Dr. Mohamed Abdel Halim, Head of the Center for Islamic Studies at the University of London, and Sheikh Dr. Jihad Khalil, the Mufti and Sharia Judge of Greece. The council was chaired by Dr. Abdul Karim Osman, Acting Dean of the Faculty of the Holy Quran.
The guests praised the role of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in serving the Arabic language and the Holy Quran.
They emphasised the importance of unifying efforts to translate the Quran based on a genuine understanding of its meanings, to serve as a significant bridge for communication between cultures and peoples. This endeavor allows non-Arabic speakers to understand the teachings and principles of Islam.
In attendance at the Ramadan Council were His Excellency Jamal Salem Al Tarifi, President of Al Qasimia University (AQU), and His Excellency Dr. Awad Al-Khalaf, the director of Al-Qasimia University, along with a distinguished group of invitees, deputy directors, deans of faculties, academic and administrative staff members, and students.
