Sharjah24: The Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) is set to host the 3rd edition of the "Sharjah Charity Run" on Friday, March 29th, with all funds raised earmarked for the "Big Heart Foundation" to bolster its charitable endeavors. Collaborating with the Department of Islamic Affairs, the event will kick off and conclude in front of the Grand Mosque of Sharjah, aiming to draw 400 participants of all genders. Featuring multiple race categories spanning 1, 3, 5, and 10 kilometers, the event will commence with a 1 km race at 9:30 PM, followed by subsequent races with a five-minute gap between each. Medals commemorating the event, with an engraving of the Sharjah Mosque's distinctive design and a Ramadan crescent in unique Islamic ornamentation, will be presented to winners at 11:00 PM.
Yasser Omar Al Dokhi, Director of the Sports and Community Events Department, underscored the council's commitment to organising this annual event, emphasising its significance and impact. Its significance across many age groups and stages is shown in the third edition's success and popularity. He made a point of mentioning that the holy month is all about giving back to the community, thus donating the money to the "Big Heart Foundation" is fitting. The resounding success and popularity of its third edition underscore its significance across diverse age groups and demographics. Dr. Al Dokhi extended an invitation to all donors, athletes, and non-athletes to attend the event.
