Sharjah 24: Omar Al Obaidli, Team Leader - Visitor Services at Sharjah Art Foundation (SAF), explained that the Foundation launched the annual March Meeting (MM 2024), under the theme “Tawashujat”, an Arabic word that refers to intertwining or meeting of thoughts and ideas. The event will run until March 3.

Al Obaidli said that the March Meeting attracts a wide range of forms of art production and community building, noting that this edition hosts many talks, dialogues, lectures and performances in addition to workshops.

He pointed out, in statements to “Sharjah 24” that the meeting examines cooperative methods and other methods that contribute to reshaping the role of art and artists in our current reality, reviewing alternative forms of gathering in common with education platforms, activist movements, and publications, which may serve as tools for intellectual awareness.

Al Obaidli added that the March Meeting has always been a platform for discussion, dialogue and listening, and the current edition of the meeting is based on reimagining a more comprehensive and equitable future based on the principles of sustainability and decent living.
