The Sharjah Media City, "Shams," is taking part in " Xposure 2024," the 8th international photography festival, which runs from February 28th to March 5th at the Sharjah Expo Centre.
The Shams Pavilion is a must-visit for photography lovers and eager spectators, offering cutting-edge competitions, a wide range of lectures, great awards, and chances to network with professionals in the field while learning about cutting-edge trends in visual narrative.

In a series of eight workshops, Shams will host four illustrious speakers who will share their knowledge and expertise in the cinematic and photographic arts. Shams has also set aside space to advertise its technical goods, training courses, artistic production, and professional photographic services.

Xposure 2024 is a major worldwide event that brings attention to Sharjah's media initiatives and shares the city's successes and accomplishments with the world. Dr Khalid Omar Al Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Media City (Shams), expressed enthusiasm about taking part in the event.

He highlighted Shams's dedication to scouting out, fostering, and developing media industry talent to support the emirate's media sector and propel the film industry ahead via encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship.

He emphasised that taking part in the festival is a great way to meet other photography enthusiasts, share ideas, and forge partnerships with prominent international businesses. It also facilitates the discovery of new avenues for the launch and development of photographic projects, as well as access to the most cutting-edge and competitive programmes available on a worldwide scale.

"Shams" pointed out that the major event is a three-hour screenwriting contest with a cap of thirty entrants that uses festival images as inspiration for a short film. The global event will conclude with the announcement of winners and the presentation of awards for the best idea, story, and screenplay. The second contest, "Move the Image," challenges contestants to transform a randomly assigned image into a script; the grand prize is a chance to collaborate on a series with Shams. "Create with Shams," an AI platform that showcases the photography abilities and works of local Shams community members, is only one example of the many experiences and activities that are part of Shams' involvement.

"Shams" features a panel discussion with industry heavyweights like Glenn Rogerman (CEO of AED Studios), Hans Freikin (global media consultant, university lecturer, and ex-film and TV commissioner at 20th Century Fox and Telefilm Canada), Brett Neal (B7N Studios), who has experience in both acting and entrepreneurship, and Jeevidha Sharma (SP Cinecorp Cinematic Venture Ltd.), CEO of SP Cinecorp.

In the main competition, Mohammed Hassan, an Emirati screenwriter, will lead a three-hour workshop outlining the competition as well as how to choose photos and compose the film screenplay. There will be three awards: best idea, best narrative, and best script.

The "Xposure" International Photography Festival brings together a group of top professional photographers to share their knowledge and expertise with photography enthusiasts and fans.

The festival acts as a portal to meeting all of photographers' needs through seminars, workshops, and lectures by well-known photographers. It also allows you to acquire new techniques, network with experienced photographers, and experiment with new photographic equipment. The festival celebrates modern photography in all of its genres, including wildlife, landscapes, reportage, and portraits.
