Sharjah24: Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council issued a council decision to form a committee for removing encroachments on farms in the city of Sharjah.
The decision mandated the establishment, within the Emirate of Sharjah, of a committee to eliminate encroachments from granted and owned farms within the city of Sharjah. The committee to be affiliated with the Sharjah City Municipality. The following responsibilities and authorities are assigned to the committee, which must adhere to applicable federal and municipal laws:
Article 1
A committee shall be formed under the chairmanship of the Director General of Sharjah Municipality and membership of representatives from the relevant authorities. The committee shall be responsible for implementing the provisions of Circular No. (2) of 2007 regarding the exploitation of agricultural land for purposes other than those for which it was allocated, and Executive Council Resolution No. (4) of 2022 regarding the regulation of the use of agricultural land in the Emirate of Sharjah.
Article 2
The committee shall have the right to enter farms to inspect their condition, identify any negative practices or violations committed therein, and take the necessary measures to address them, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
Article 3
The committee shall follow up on the process of eliminating encroachments and restoring farms to their original state so that they can be used for the purposes for which they were allocated.
Article 4
The committee shall follow up on the process of apprehending violators who are present in or around farms and who are residing illegally and take the appropriate measures against them.
Article 5
The committee shall impose the administrative penalties prescribed in the relevant legislation in force against violators.
Article 6
The committee shall take the necessary measures to prevent the occurrence of such encroachments and negative practices, and the relevant authorities shall follow up on violators on a regular basis.
Article 7
The committee shall refer the matter of any farm with encroachments or violations to the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah to decide what it deems appropriate regarding the expropriation of its ownership in accordance with Article No. (8) of Decree-Law No. (2) of 2020 regarding the expropriation of real estate for public benefit in the Emirate of Sharjah and its executive regulations.
Article 8
The committee shall be entrusted with any other tasks assigned to it by the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah.
The committee will be headed by the Director General of the Sharjah Municipality and will include representatives from various government departments.
According to the decision, the committee shall be chaired by Mr. Khalid Khalifa Ali Falah Al Suwaidi - Director of Customer Service at the Sharjah City Municipality, and its members shall include:
1. Colonel Omar Ali Al Shamsi, Director of Special Tasks Management at the General Command of Sharjah Police
2. Colonel Salem Mohammed Al Shamsi, Deputy Director of Foreign Violators Affairs Management at Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security
3. Major Abdulrahman Yousif Al Mazim, Deputy Director of Civil Protection and Safety Management at the Sharjah Civil Defence.
4. Engineer Ali Sultan Butti Al Muhairi, Director of Survey Management at the Planning and Survey Department.
5. Hussain Khairullah Askar Al Askar, Director of Subscribers Services Department at Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority
6. Khalifa Abdullah Bughanim Al Suwaidi, Acting Director of Inspection and Control Department at Sharjah City Municipality.
7. Salem Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Deputy Director of Control and Commercial Protection Department at the Department of Economic Development.
8. Imran Ahmed Ali Al Mazmi, Acting Head of Projects Follow-up and Directives Department at Sharjah City Municipality.
