SPEA organises the Private School Directors’ Council 2nd meeting

Sharjah 24: Believing in the importance of partnership and intensifying efforts to develop the education sector and stimulate cooperation between schools, Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA) organized, on Tuesday, the meeting of the Private School Directors’ Council for the current year 2024, in its second session, at SPEA headquarters, with the aim of selecting the Executive Committee of the Private School Directors Council in Sharjah.
The meeting was held in the presence of Her Excellency Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashemi, Chairman of the SPEA, and His Excellency Mr. Ali Al Hosani, Director SPEA, along with members of the Private School Directors’ Council and supervisors from the Authority.

In the meeting, Her Excellency Dr. Muhadatha Al Hashemi stressed the importance of the Council and its role in building bridges of communication with private schools, noting that this consultative meeting contributes greatly to the exchange of ideas and experiences between school principals, and enhancing common understanding aimed at developing the private education sector in the Emirate of Sharjah, explaining the importance of holding periodic meetings that establish a culture of communication and cooperation, and reflect the Authority’s commitment to achieving the highest levels of educational excellence and sustainable development in the educational community.

His Excellency Mr. Ali Al Hosani exteneded his thanks to the school directors for their cooperation and continuous support and their essential role in developing the quality of performance in private schools, stressing SPEA role in enabling schools to achieve sustainable development through coordination and cooperation between private school directors to achieve educational goals.   His Excellency Mr. Ali Al Hosani called on everyone to exert more efforts and focus on specific projects that highlight the capabilities of the Emirate of Sharjah in the education sector, in light of the great support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.

Ziad Shatat explained that the goal of the meeting is to select the Executive Committee of the Council, which is responsible for implementing the Council’s initiatives. Shatat also pointed out that the Authority will announce within the next few weeks the Council of Nursery Directors, out of its belief in the necessity of partnership with all parties of the private educational system in Sharjah.

Majd Hussein, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Council, expressed her hope to many many achievements in Sharjah private schools, noting that her vision focuses on cooperation, especially since Sharjah private schools have achieved qualitative and remarkable leaps over the past 6 years, requiring continued work through preparation. 

The meeting saw the formation of the Electoral Committee for the School Directors Council, where the director of the American School of Creative Science, Majd Hussein, was elected as Chairman of the Council, the Director of the Victoria International School in Khorfakkan, James Stanley Stearns, was elected as Vice-Chairman, the Director of the GEMS Westminster Private School, Valerie Thompson, was elected as Secretary, and the Director of the Tarim School. American Private School, Dr. Raed Sobhi and Director of the International Scientific Creativity Private School, Samar Murad, are executive members. The meeting also concluded with the signing of the membership charter, which enhances the spirit of cooperation and understanding between private schools in Sharjah.

The School Directors Council is considered a voluntary advisory council that represents all private schools in the Emirate of Sharjah and is affiliated with selected elite of private school principals with competence, experience and the ability to work effectively, in cooperation with Sharjah Private Education Authority to improve the educational and pedagogical system.
