Sharjah24: The inaugural edition of the Urban Arbitration Forum is being organized by the Sharjah International Commercial Arbitration Centre, known as "Tahkeem," concurrently with the 9th Sharjah Real Estate Exhibition (ACRES 2024) which will be hosted by Expo Centre Sharjah from 17th-20th January, 2024.
This forum has the objective of introducing investors, suppliers, and contractors to the Sharjah International Commercial Arbitration Centre's role in serving Sharjah's economic sectors. Participants will gain insights into the foundational aspects of construction law and arbitration, emphasising the centre's pivotal support across diverse business sectors. Discussions will also explore collaborative avenues between the centre and participating entities. Moreover, participants will be briefed on the legal nature of construction contracts, the factors leading to disputes, and amicable dispute resolution methods.
Abdullah Deaifis, Chairman of "Tahkeem," emphasised that hosting the Urban Arbitration Forum's first edition underscores the centre's commitment to providing a platform that unites leading institutions and key investors in real estate, construction, and real estate development. The forum provides an opportunity for participants to exchange views, share experiences, and discover alternative dispute resolution methods in the real estate sector.
During panel discussions, the forum will delve into the significance of arbitration in construction contracts, the role of arbitration in real estate investment, and its contribution to economic development. The goal is to acquaint investors and real estate developers with the centre’s leading role in providing services to the economic sector. Leaders and executives from government and private entities in real estate and investment sectors will actively participate.
