Sharjah 24: Al Madam Cultural and Sports Club commemorated the World Arabic Language Day on December 18 with a cultural celebration.
The event featured diverse cultural activities, engaging a significant number of club members. The primary goal was to enrich the Arabic language knowledge of the club's members.
The cultural festivities encompassed various activities, highlighting the importance of utilising the Arabic language. Short, expressive stories under the theme "Read to Reach New Horizons" were also shared. The celebration concluded with the distribution of symbolic gifts to encourage the appreciation and use of the Arabic language.
Commenting on the cultural event, Sultan Mohammed bin Huwaiden, the Chairman of the Club's Board of Directors, expressed that the event's organisation aligns with the World Arabic Language Day, supporting the directives of the wise leadership in the Emirate of Sharjah, which prioritises the preservation of the Arabic language. He underscored the club's commitment to hosting cultural events throughout the year to strengthen national identity, promote Arabic culture, and celebrate its rich heritage.
He further highlighted the global significance of the Arabic language, being the language of the Holy Quran and an integral part of daily life in the UAE.
