Celebrations emphasised the belonging and the depth of loyalty to the homeland, whereas the UAE union is the most prominent historical moment in the UAE journey thanks to the visions of the founders and their aspirations to build a homeland that ensures advancement and prosperity for citizens and residents.
Engineer Yousef Khamis Al Othmani, Chairman of SRTA, said in his opening speech that the UAE, since the establishment of the union, has embarked on a comprehensive renaissance journey, through which it has achieved a series of successes, engraved with gold letters, to ascend to the highest ranks among nations, topping the lists of global indicators in different fields and aspects.
Al Othmani continued that the UAE continued to amaze the world with its distinction and superiority, leaving an exceptional mark in every experience it undertakes towards advancement and development.
Al Othmani added that what the UAE achieved after the establishment of the Union is a translation of an enlightened thought, instilled by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan paving the way for the first steps of prosperity and progress, so that after him his sons, the sheikhs and rulers, will continue the journey of the Union, crowned with sustainable success, as the UAE, with the support of its leadership, continued to make the impossible and break its world records with ambition that exceeded the limits of the sky.
Al Otmani explained that this year, the UAE realised the national strategy for sustainable development, by adopting initiatives that result in effective innovations in the service of environmental sustainability; and that under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the UAE people do not rule out any achievement that is difficult to achieve, which is a fact that has become a tangible reality in light of the UAE’s global competitiveness.
The celebration began with the National Anthem, and a screening of a documentary on SRTA efforts, in the Year of Sustainability 2023. The master of the ceremony gave a welcoming speech to the guests, followed by a speech by His Excellency the Chairman of the Authority, and celebrations continued by welcoming the guests from sponsors, university students, project managers, and franchise company managers. The Musical Police presented segments, and was followed by the opening of the Sustainability Exhibition with the participation of 3 government agencies, through which several projects were presented on environmental sustainability.
During the UAE’ 52nd Union Day celebrations, SRTA reviewed one of its most prominent and unique achievements at the state level, represented by the launch of the luxury bus designated for VIPs. SRTA decided to launch a bus that has distinctive features and advanced modern technologies, taking into account quality, through which it provides an exceptional service that guarantees complete comfort and luxury, in accordance with the highest standards of security and safety, through a luxurious means of transportation, thus enhancing the authority’s fleet of vehicles to include all levels and meet the aspirations of passengers.
SRTA concluded the UAE’ 52nd Union Day celebrations by holding a heritage competition, followed by honouring the sponsoring companies and SRTA employees, while honouring the best 3 departments that come forward with innovative ideas in the field of environment sustainability.
