Sharjah runner-up in Arab Judo Clubs Championship

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Sports Club's judo juniors team won the second place cup and silver medals, in the Arab Clubs Championship for Juniors and Youth Judo, hosted by Zayed Sports Complex Hall in the Fujairah where 17 clubs from various Arab countries participated.
Sharjah Club Juniors succeeded in obtaining 6 coloured medals, including two gold medals, a silver medal, and three bronze medals.

In the youth individual competitions, the team came in third place, winning 4 medals, including a gold medal and three bronze medals; and in the youth team matches, the Sharjah Club champions came in second place in the overall standings.

The tournament saw the participation of eight countries, namely, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, and Libya, and 280 players participated. The tournament was organised by the Fujairah Martial Arts Club, in cooperation with the Emirates Judo Federation, and under the supervision of the Arab Judo Federation.

Engineer Hamid Shams Al Zarouni, member of the Individual Games Department and game supervisor, congratulated the team on the result, indicating that it is very special as it is the first participation of the cubs team, which presented a remarkable performance.

Engineer Hamid Shams Al Zarouni explained that the tournament saw the participation of Arab countries with strong levels, and it is a unique experience for young players to get used to competition, praising the distinguished and combative performance shown by the players and the technical and administrative staff.

Engineer Hamid Shams Al Zarouni said that the achievement made is the result of the work of the Individual Games Department headed by Engineer Sulaiman Al Hajri, which spares no effort in preparing our players and providing them with all requirements.
