Sharjah24: In light of the success of the Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club (SSDSC) in the 15th Abu Dhabi World Youth Jiu-Jitsu Championship, the club's chairman, Ahmed Abdul Rahman Al Owais, has said that "more championships" are on the horizon.
The club accomplished a lot and won "Best Global Club for the Youth" in the 15th annual championship.
Over the course of the 10-day championship, in which 7,000 players from 127 nations competed, the club won a total of 137 medals, including 37 gold, 47 silver, and 53 bronze.
Al Owais has said, "The club's approach focuses on acquiring young players, providing them with helping hands, improving their talents, and growing their capacities in various combat sports, with Jiu-Jitsu being the most prominent. By doing so, the club hopes to improve its performance in all competitions and strengthen its position as a key player in fostering the continued growth of these sports.
The Chairman of the Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club Board of Directors thanked the Sharjah Sports Council for its efforts and support, highlighting the Council's major role in bringing about a qualitative leap for all combat sports within the club. This assistance has highlighted talented Emiratis who will bolster national teams in the future.
