Sharjah 24: The General Manager of Sharjah Taxi, Khalid Al Kindi, recently announced the honouring of ten taxi drivers who had represented the best qualities of Sharjah's taxi service in 2022. There were no records of accidents, tickets, or complaints lodged against these drivers. Sharjah Taxi awarded them incentives for their hard work and dedication.
Al Kindi said in an interview with "Sharjah 24" that drivers must meet certain criteria before being considered for the Traffic Safety Awards. If more than one driver meets these requirements, the tally of their combined kilometres is used to determine who comes out on top.
He went on to explain that there are three distinct categories for the Traffic Safety Award. Winners in the gold category are rewarded with AED 3,000; winners in the silver category are awarded AED 2,000; and winners in the bronze category are awarded AED 1,000.
