Sharjah 24: Sharjah Media City “Shams” today, Wednesday, in cooperation with the Friends of Cancer Patients Association, organised free examinations for its employees and the “Shams” community, on the occasion of World Breast Cancer Awareness Month, through the “Pink Caravan” mobile clinic.
The initiative comes within the framework of enhancing community awareness among all citizens and residents of the United Arab Emirates, of all ages, about breast cancer and the importance of early detection.
Sharjah Media City affirmed its keenness to allocate an aspect of social responsibility for the benefit of its employees, who are considered a fundamental pillar in the sustainability of health work, and urged them to follow a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
Shams expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Friends of Cancer Patients Association in launching the “Pink October” campaign, which includes an integrated programme of events implemented by its “Pink Caravan” initiative throughout the month of October.
The medical day provides the possibility of donating in cash to the association, by purchasing food from the bazaar organised by the Shams, where the proceeds from the sales will go to providing medical treatment and improving the lives of people with cancer, in addition to an awareness workshop on how to perform periodic examinations and the importance of early detection.
