Sharjah 24: A coordination meeting was convened to discuss significant developments regarding the incorporation of parents councils into the jurisdiction of the Sharjah Districts and Villages Affairs Department (SDVAD).
This initiative was prompted by a decree issued by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.
The meeting, held at the Waset Council headquarters in Sharjah City, was led by His Excellency Sheikh Majid bin Sultan bin Saqer Al Qasimi, Chairman of Districts and Villages Affairs Department. The primary aim of the meeting was to acquaint all participants with the recent changes related to the integration of parents councils into the Districts and Villages Affairs Department.
During the meeting, an overview of the department's functions and responsibilities was presented, including its oversight of Suburban Councils and its role in engaging with the public, promoting social cohesion, and enhancing community life.
The meeting also addressed the continued role of parents councils in extending the department's community involvement, particularly in interacting with families and educational institutions.
Sheikh Majid bin Sultan Al Qasimi stressed that the inclusion of parents councils in the Suburban Affairs Department facilitates better interaction between parents, educational authorities, and administrators, especially concerning the educational welfare of students.
He reaffirmed that the strategies of the Districts and Villages Affairs Department are inspired by and aligned with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. This vision aims to continuously advance the quality of education and actively contribute to the development of an educated and knowledgeable society.
