Dr. Sharifa Al Marzouqi, Director of the Media Centre at the UOS, confirmed that the “News Lab” platform, is one of the basic platforms in which the university participates, and includes a variety of academic and applied training workshops.
Speaking to “Sharjah 24”, Dr. Al Marzouqi explained that the platform’s workshops witnessed remarkable participation by students and those interested in all types of media, means of communication, multimedia, electronic media, and public relations, with the aim of qualifying them for the labour market after graduation.
For his part, Dr. Ala Makki, Assistant Professor at the College of Communication in the University of Sharjah, pointed out that the “Producing TV News Reports” workshop came as a continuation of the workshops that were held in the “News Lab.” He continued that the focus was on the skills of the TV reporter, and how to formulate information at the scene.
Mohammed Farhat, a university staff, indicated that he presented a practical workshop on modern methods of editing press news, and stressed the importance of the “News Lab” workshops for students of communication colleges in the country and those interested in the media.
