Sharjah 24: On the final day of the International Government Communication Forum (IGCF), Geoffrey Alphonso, CEO of Alef Education, and Guido Bertucci, Executive Director of Governance Solutions International, discussed the value of Chat GPT in the classroom.
In a talk to "Sharjah 24," they shared some of the session's key takeaways.
In his remarks at the International Governing Communication Forum in Sharjah, Geoffrey Alphonso said, "I'm pleased to be here. Given recent discoveries in how technology is altering humanity, I've chosen to focus my main panel today on the debate involving Aristotle and Chat GPGPT. The question that needs to be asked is, "How does government play a significant role in technology in terms of policies, effective and ethical use, and empowering educators and students to use this technology to improve the entire school and education ecosystem?"
He argued for a middle ground between the use of technology in the classroom and ensuring the continuation of teachers' central role in student development.
According to Guido Bertucci, "This session talks about using AI and AI-related technologies like Chat GPT in the classroom." The best way to incorporate AI into classroom instruction is a hot issue. Bertucci emphasised that while AI can aid in content gathering and creation, it should not be used in place of human creativity and intuition."
He believes that AI should enhance human interaction rather than replace it and underlined the importance of judgement while implementing visual intelligence in the classroom.
