Sharjah24: Dr. Ahmed Farouk, Head of Public Relations Department at the College of Communication at the University of Sharjah highlighted the important role of media important role for media on issues of sustainability and climate change.
In his exclusive statement to "Sharjah 24", Dr. Ahmed Farouk stated that the AlMajaz Amphitheatre is hosting a media training workshop on sustainability and climate change issues as part of the " COMMS " programme offered to students of universities of communication and media by the International Government Communication Forum.
He stressed that media has a crucial role to play in addressing sustainability and climate change issues.
He added to “Sharjah24” that climate change and sustainability are among the issues that are being focused on these days, as the year 2023 is dedicated to sustainability in the country, shedding light on the country’s further contribution in this regard as the UAE will host next December the (COP 28) conference.
He concluded that through this workshop, the attendees were briefed on media as a very effective tool, explaining how good media coverage of the topics discussed in this conference can be achieved by presenting problems and solutions.
