Sharjah24: Dr. Khaled Al Salami, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah –based Association of Families of Persons with Disabilities (AFPD) has expressed pleasure with launching the "School Bag" initiative in its 2nd edition, targeting disabled children and students affiliated with the Association, in addition to holding the closing ceremony of 2023 summer agenda and honouring the contributing and supporting entities, at the Holy Qur’an Complex in Sharjah.
He confirmed that empowering people with disabilities comes in line with the Association’s objectives, reflecting the wise vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, aiming to support the disables and motivate this important segment of society.
Al Salami explained to "Sharjah 24" that the celebration, which coincided with the start of the school year, involved distributing school bags to all the Association’s students and affiliates.
In celebration of Emirati Women's Day, which comes on December 28 every year, the ceremony also included honouring the Association’s female employees for their outstanding accomplishments in volunteer work.
