The SCI said that it was able, with the support of its donors, to assist 101 families who received a final notice to cut off services from their homes by the competent authorities, in paying arrears of electricity and water bills, during the first half of this year.
The SCI indicated that it had received a number of requests for assistance related to failure to pay utility bills. The SCI reviews all submitted requests. In this regard, the SCI calls on donors to support utility bills project, whereas it contributes to relieving needy families with limited income, explaining that the interruption of such services would turn the lives of families into suffering, in light of the high temperatures during summer.

The assistance teams coordinate with the competent authorities to identify the records of families with the aim of studying their financial and living conditions to ensure the payment of bills for the neediest groups.
The SCI renewed the call to its donors who wish to support service bill defaulters through assistance programmes implemented throughout the year.
