Sharjah24: The "UAE Waste-to-Energy Plant" is a collaboration between BEEAH Group and Masdar, according to Engineer Nouf Mohammed Jamal, Senior Engineer in the Energy Department of BEEAH Group.
It is the first of its kind in the country, and it uses cutting-edge waste-to-energy technologies, including thermal decomposition equipment, thermal engines, and the appropriate electrical systems for power generation, to turn non-recyclable waste into clean electrical energy.
In an exclusive interview with "Sharjah 24," Engineer Nouf Mohammed verified that the facility had processed over 100,000 metric tonnes of non-recyclable waste and generated enough electricity to power 2,000 families in its first year of operation.
In cooperation with the Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority, this facility will provide electricity to 28,000 homes in the future.
The engineer also noted how BEEAH Group has improved its waste management operations and environmental preservation to the point where it now handles 90% of the waste, up from 76% in the past. The end goal for BEEAH is complete waste management.
